Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic stated in New York that he does not expect that UN Security Council members will get so close in their stances to end the session with a joint statement or a new Security Council resolution.
In a statement to the Fonet news agency, Jeremic stressed that he therefore believes that the debate in the Security Council devoted to Kosovo-Metohija will resume next year.
This is the first round of talks on the province’s status at the UN Security Council. We expect more rounds and our message will be clear – Serbia is ready for a continuation of a peaceful status dialogue which will bring peace and stability in the Western Balkan region, said the Minister.
He announced that at the Security Council the Serbian delegation will officially demand a continuation of talks on the Kosovo-Metohija future status under the UN mandate.
