In a telephone statement to the Beta news agency, Djuric said that Chinese Ambassador to the UN Wang Guangya informed Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica that at today’s Security Council session China will support the continuation of talks on the province’s future status.
Kostunica and Guangya met last night at UN headquarters prior to the Security Council session, explained Djuric and added that the Chinese Ambassador stated that China will continue with its policy of advocating strong support to the preservation of Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and respect of UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
Djuric also said that Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Slobodan Samardzic, who will take part in the session together with Kostunica and Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic, met with South African Ambassador to the UN Dumisani Kumalo.
According to him, South Africa also endorses the respect of Resolution 1244 and the continuation of Kosovo-Metohija status talks.
