Serbian Minister of Telecommunications and Information Society Aleksandra Smiljanic completed her several-day visit to Brussels during which she discussed with European Commissioners for Informatics and Science Vivien Reding and Janez Potocnik promotion of cooperation between Serbia and European Commission in these areas.
Smiljanic told Tanjug that they also discussed liberalisation of telecommunication market in Serbia and EU, development of e-government, as well as promotion of IT in primary and secondary schools.
She said that the topics of the talks were also programmes from the field of telecommunications and information society, such as FP7 and CIP, and the commissioners promised support and announced a conference to be held in February 2008.
The delegation of the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information also met in Brussels with other European Commission officials with whom they discussed integration of Serbian universities and companies in European programmes.
