In a telephone statement to the news agency Tanjug, Spasojevic said that this was the conclusion reached at his meeting with Political Director at the Spanish Foreign Ministry Rafael Dezcallar in Madrid.
We appreciate Spain’s principled support to find a solution based on compromise for the issue of the future status of Kosovo-Metohija, within the framework of the UN and international law, said Spasojevic.
The Serbian State Secretary of Defence, who is on a two-day visit to Spain, said that this visit is successful and the Serbian delegation was received with absolute understanding on all issues subject to discussion.
He said that he also held talks with Secretary General of Defence Policy Luis Manuel Cuesta and it was said on the occasion that relations between Serbia and Spain are friendly, but there is scope for improving cooperation in concrete areas of defence.
We initiated conclusion of the bilateral agreement on defence cooperation between the two countries and assessed that it would be a good basis for intensifying further cooperation, said Spasojevic.
He pointed to the fact that his collocutors offered help to Serbia in defence system reforms and invited Serbian army experts to take part in a conference on military medicine to be held in Spain next year.
