In a statement given to the Tanjug news agency, Djuric pointed out that this is a support to Serbian and Russian initiative for the UN Security Council to decide on the continuation of the negotiating process on December 19.
According to him, it is of the utmost importance for Serbia that the EU should bring a decision on further negotiations instead of deciding to send its mission to Kosovo-Metohija, which would be the beginning of implementation of the province’s unilateral independence.
The position of the Serbian government is well-known – only negotiations can result in a compromised solution, in accordance with the UN Charter and the Serbian Constitution, that would guarantee peace and stability in the region, said Djuric.
