Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said today that Serbia will not give up its right to safeguard territorial integrity and sovereignty within its internationally recognised borders due to any form of pressure or, even worse, offer of reward.
“I answered once and finally to British Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s statement that Serbia should recognise independence of Kosovo-Metohija in order to become EU member, when I took oath in Serbian parliament as Prime Minister to be loyal to the Republic of Serbia and to respect the Serbian Constitution.
I am certain that every Serbian prime minister will respond the same to the offer that Serbia could give up part of its territory in return for certain favours,” concludes the written statement by the Serbian Prime Minister.
