Speaking at a panel discussion "Ljubljana agenda for new phase in the process of stabilisation and association", dedicated to the position of the Western Balkans during Slovenia's EU Presidency, Delevic said that a lot has been done in the region in the field of political and functional cooperation in the past eight years.
She said that the main problem is unequal speed among Western Balkan countries in advancing towards Europe and very low awareness of the fact that the process of disintegration, characteristic for the Balkans, has been stopped.
Head of the Serbian government's EU Integration Office Tanja Miscevic voiced hope that Serbia will soon sign the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, adding that that will mark a new era of Serbia's relations with the EU.
According to her, Serbia has administrative capacities to speed up its road towards the EU, and regional cooperation is necessary to achieve that.
Miscevic said that two weeks ago the EU Integration Office sent a proposal to the government to draw up documents that are prepared by countries which are EU candidates.
