The delegation presented to the Prime Minister the St Vitus Day Declaration signed by 75,000 Serbian citizens from Kosovo-Metohija. The declaration confirms unbreakable constitutional, national and legal ties between Kosovo-Metohija and Serbia and affirms the decision to reject all acts by Albanian separatists regarding unilateral independence.
Kostunica particularly stressed that the declaration is a validation of Serbia’s policy and its clear stance that the province of Kosovo-Metohija is an integral and unalienable part of Serbia’s territory.
The Serbian Prime Minister said that what matters most is the joint stand taken by Serbian citizens in Kosovo-Metohija and state institutions that any unilateral declaration of independence will be absolutely rejected and that Serbs from Kosovo-Metohija will always be citizens of Serbia with equal rights, for whom only decisions made by the Serbian government and other state organs of the Republic of Serbia are valid.
