President of the Serbian Skiing Association and Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic met today with renowned Italian skier Alberto Tomba and Italian Ambassador to Belgrade Alessandro Merola to discuss cooperation of Italian and Serbian skiing associations.
Dinkic invited Tomba to become promoter of the Bambi Cup, one of the six greatest competitions in Alpine skiing for children between 12 and 15 years of age, which will be held in early March next year.
He briefed the collocutors on the construction of several new ski centres in Serbia and the reconstruction of old ones.
Tomba stressed that Italian coaches will help their Serbian colleagues to learn modern training techniques which will help Serbian competitors achieve better results.
He said he is pleased to promote the winter sports fair EXPO-ZIM which opens in Belgrade tomorrow.
I am very happy to be in Serbia again because people in your country really know how to appreciate the successes I achieved in the course of my 20-year long carrier. I am also happy to step in after my good friend Ingemar Stenmark as promoter of this fair, said Tomba.
EXPO-ZIM fair will last until Sunday and 84 exhibitors will present their products and services. Thirty of them will be from the tourism sector.
