Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic said that Serbia will pledge for continuation of negotiations on the future status of Kosovo-Metohija in the UN Security Council that leads toward a compromised solution without bringing into question territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.

Jeremic said at parliament session that focuses on draft law on foreign affairs and prior to his
departure to New York that this is a delicate moment for Serbia and that efforts need to be made to preserve state unity and common policy on Kosovo.
The Minister pointed out that energetic and efficient measures are necessary in relations with the international community so that we could fight for our national interests.
In the upcoming weeks and months we will be imposed to dramatic pressures from the whole world, but we have the principle-based and firm position on the future status of Kosovo and Serbia’s European future, Jeremic stressed.
He pointed out that Serbia greatly appreciates the principle position of the Russian Federation in the Kosovo negotiations so far and Russia’s support to the respect of international law standards.
Jeremic noted that with the adoption of the proposed bill, Serbia will get a modern and efficient diplomatic apparatus the country needs to implement its foreign policy whose aim is peace, security and prosperity.
