During a tour of the future motorway route in the company of representatives of concessionaires FCC Construction, Alpine Mayreder Bau and PORR Solutions Immobilien, Ilic told the press that the concessionaires submitted the required guarantees and added that one of the main financiers will be Deutche Bank, whose representative also accompanied Ilic on this occasion.
The Minister explained that these preparations imply expropriation of land parcels along the motorway route and added that over 2,500 final decisions have been issued and prepared and the pay-out to land owners should begin today.
According to the concession contract, the construction should begin in March 2008 when the four-year deadline will also begin, during which the motorway should be completed, he said.
According to Ilic, the beginning of preparation works is currently hampered by extremely high levels of underground water, which is why the works will begin when the water recedes.
He specified that the main base for the construction of the Novi Sad-Horgos section will be set up at Backa Topola, from which point works will officially begin both towards the North and the South.
He stressed that Vojvodina will not lose anything with the construction of the Horgos-Pozega motorway and added that the road system is a unique system for the entire state.
