After the meeting with Slovakian Foreign Minister Jan Kubis, Jeremic said that at this moment all competent organs of the Republic of Serbia are doing everything to complete cooperation with ICTY as soon as possible and that there is full cooperation, and that is why Serbia believes that this condition for signing SAA, which is practically the most important, has been fulfilled.
Kubis said that Slovakia as a member state of the EU, NATO and the UN Security Council (SC) is interested in the safety and stability in the region and that is why it advocates resolution of the future status of Kosovo-Metohija through negotiations.
He said that Slovakia believes that it is high time that the EU sent a mission to Kosovo, but that requires a resolution of the UN SC.
Jeremic said that it is the position of both Slovakia and Serbia that unilateral moves by any of the sides would have negative consequences to safety in the region and reiterated that Resolution 1244, which regulates the current situation in Kosovo, remains in force until the UN SC votes a new one.
