Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica congratulated late yesterday President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and his United Russia party on winning the elections for the State Duma of the Russian parliament.

Yesterday Russia held free democratic elections and I am extending special greetings to President Putin and United Russia party for their striking victory, Kostunica said in statement to Tanjug news agency.
Russian people confirmed that they support the policy of President Putin, he said. Serbia expects that its relations with Russia will continue to develop in an excellent way.
The Serbian people are truly glad because of the progress of the friendly Russian people and country, the Serbian Prime Minister said.
