Ljajic said on the occasion that within the project of social housing for disabled war veterans and families of killed soldiers, it is planned that 318 flats will be built in 20 municipalities throughout Serbia, with donations by the Japanese government and funds from the National Investment Plan.
Until now 222 flats have been built, and the construction of 96 flats is underway, and with this, expressing gratitude to the Japanese government and nation, we confirm our commitment to help socially disadvantaged groups of the population, said the Minister.
He pointed to good cooperation with the City of Novi Sad, which provided building land and infrastructure.
Keys to flats were given to 23 families of killed soldiers and one disabled war veteran.
Flats for families of soldiers killed in recent wars have been built so far in Kikinda, Indjija, Pancevo, Belgrade, Smederevo, Loznica, Kragujevac, Krusevac, Nis and Leskovac.
