Serbian Minister of Labour and Social Policy Rasim Ljajic attended the beginning of a humanitarian futsal tournament held in the sports hall of the Rudjer Boskovic high school, the income from which will be used for the purchase of equipment for centres for children with special needs.
The Minister said that the aim of such events is that the local community through various activities support the Ministry's programmes for socialisation of persons with special needs who live in their natural environment, and for improvement of quality of life of those in the institutions of social care.
He said that there are 1,400 children who live in the institutions without parental care, while there are many more that are mentally challenged and need our help.
Ljajic said that this is the first in a serious of campaigns which the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy will organise to express solidarity and encourage others to help the children who live in institutions and foster families.
Apart from the Ministry, this campaign was supported by a large number of businessmen and persons from the world of art and sports.
