Director for Western Balkans in the European Commission's Enlargement Directorate General Pierre Mirel and Director of the Serbian EU Integration Office Tanja Miscevic delivered today awards to best journalists who won at the competition for best report on EU integration process in Serbia published from January 1 to November 15 this year.
The awarded journalists are Boban Trajkovic of production network Mreza, Milan Srdic from Novi Sad’s Radio 021, reporter of "Glas Javnosti" daily Jelena Jevremovic, Branislav Lazin from TV Panovizija in Vrsac and Vladeta Dunda from TV Krusevac.
Miscevic expressed satisfaction that more local media participated in the competition this year and invited reporters not only to convey information but to ask questions and do the research to stimulate better work of the EU Integration Office in European integration process.
Mirel congratulated the awarded journalists and invited all media to criticise and realise the daily implication of EU accession and not only to address political issues.
According to him, the
Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) will provide Serbia with €1 billion by 2011 allowing the country to become stable.
The five awarded journalists will go on a working and study tour to Brussels from December 10 to 14 and will meet with officials of the European Commision and European Parliament.
