Serbian Minister of Infrastructure Velimir Ilic said today that the government at its session tomorrow will approve additional funds to areas in southern Serbia hit by floods, since damage to houses and roads is enormous. The government earlier allocated RSD 48 million for repair works.
During a tour of construction works on the Avala Tower, Ilic said that funds previously allocated are not enough and are sufficient only to meet urgent needs in flooded municipalities. He said that four more municipalities were flooded this morning.
He said that yesterday, during a visit to flooded areas in the south, he assessed damage done to houses, roads and bridges.
According to Ilic, two bridges which were completely demolished cost RSD 95 million, while damage to three other bridges is being assessed and it is very much possible that they cannot be repaired but will have to be demolished.
