At the opening of a new library of Matica Srpska in Novi Sad, Kostunica said he is pleased to extend wishes for a successful opening of the library in the new building, constructed through joint efforts of the Serbian government and the Executive Council of Vojvodina, with the help of the National Investment Plan.
Apart from setting an example of joint work and smart investment into national culture, Matica Srpska has been and remains one of the oldest and most important institutions of the Serbian people in general, said the Prime Minister.
He added that it is also a living example of the role that patiently and wisely cherished tradition can play when it comes to progress and often to the survival of a country.
Kostunica also pointed to the difficulty with which Serbia and its citizens are now faced and added that Serbia is now leading a historic battle for the preservation of its territorial integrity and sovereignty in order to retain Kosovo-Metohija within its borders.
The Prime Minister also stressed that the truth which Serbia has been proving for centuries over and over again has finally been stated in the new Constitution, and that truth is that Kosovo-Metohija is, has always been and will always remain Serbia.
