Gorenje Tiki factory opened in Stara Pazova

Serbian Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic opened today in Stara Pazova the Gorenje Tiki factory.
Dinkic said on the occasion that the Slovenian concern Gorenje has until now created 1,000 jobs in Serbia. He added that the aim of his ministry is to attract Greenfield investments which would lead to new jobs.
He said that one of the priorities of his ministry is to raise production standards in Serbia so that goods may be placed in foreign markets.
He said that it is important that 65% of production from the newly opened factory will be exported to EU and Russian markets, and domestically produced parts will be used in the production of boilers.
Dinkic stressed that for the first time Serbia recorded a surplus in trade with Slovenia, and added that this means Serbia offers good conditions to foreign investors.
According to Dinkic, the ministry plans to continue increasing the GDP from an annual 7% to 8%, so that within a period of five years Serbia may get close to the level of Slovenia.
Director of the firm Gorenje Tiki Brane Apat said that €9 million was invested in the new factory which began production in January this year. Until now nearly 150,000 boilers were produced, of which 60,000 were for the Serbian market and the rest for export.
President of the Gorenje concern’s executive board Franjo Bobinac said that Serbia does not present risks regarding investments and offers quality and expert work force.
He stressed that Serbia is on the path of EU integration and offers all conditions for investment. He added that the Slovenian company is present in the Serbian market with a 7% share in business activity.
Representatives of Gorenje said that the company plans to open a business centre in Belgrade next year. The centre will cover a space of nearly 8,000 square metres, and a regional logistics centre will also be established in this area.
The Gorenje Tiki factory will employ 155 people, and will produce all models of boilers with capacity from five to 500 litres.
Investments in the new factory were also facilitated by the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency which supported the opening of these jobs with €310,000.
