Upon visit to the Centre for the mentally challenged in Curug near Novi Sad, Ljajic said that his Ministry will make a re-distribution of its budget in order to secure funds for the first aid to these institutions.
My task will be to secure as much funds as possible and to include the system of social care among top state priorities, Ljajic said and promised that a lot will be done in the reform of the social care system in the next six months.
Commenting on the recently published report by the Mental Disability Rights International (MDRI ), Ljajic said that it is in our interest to find out the whole truth not in order to argue with MDRI, but to make the reform in this field as good as possible.
Ljajic said that he saw for himself that in the Centre in Curug there is no torture or crimes mentioned in MDRI’s report.
Today the minister also visited the Centre for mentally challenged children and youth in Veternik near Novi Sad.
