Ljajic invited all international organisations and embassies in Belgrade to join representatives of Serbian line ministries and visit institutions for the disabled.
He announced a visit tomorrow to the special institute for children and youth Nikola Sumenkovic, and added that on Monday he will also visit two such facilities in Novi Sad because after yesterday’s report of the International Organisation for Protection of Disabled Persons’ Rights it is imperative to show the actual state of such facilities in Serbia.
According to Ljajic, the aim of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy is to deinstitutionalise these facilities and help the disabled to begin independent life outside social institutions.
