Commenting on statements that at the next round of negotiations on Kosovo-Metohija, the international troika of envoys could present the idea that relations between Serbia and Kosovo-Metohija should be based on a concept inspired by relations between the two parts of divided Germany which were established by the Basic Treaty in 1972, Djuric said for the news agency Beta that the UN SC Resolution 1244 does not in any way mention independence and establishing of relations between two independent states.
He stressed that the Resolution 1244 guarantees the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia and substantial autonomy for Kosovo-Metohija, so that a solution for the future regulation of the province may be sought only within these clear parameters set by the resolution.
