Serbia shows it is capable of being European leader during chairmanship of CoE Committee of Ministers

Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said late today at the official reception marking the end of Serbia's chairmanship of the Council of Europe's (CoE) Committee of Ministers that Serbia has shown in the past six months that it can chair a multilateral international institution.
Jeremic said that the CoE is the oldest pan-European institution whose philosophy is in the heart of Europe and which the Serbian government wants to follow.
The Minister thanked CoE Secretary-General Terry Davis for having helped Serbia during its chairmanship.
Davis said that during that time Serbia has proved that it deserves to wear European colours and that it is really capable of being a European leader. Not even the problem of resolving the Kosovo status did obstruct Serbia in the execution of its task, Davis underlined and added that that was a chance for Serbia to show that it is a country dedicated to European values.
