Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said today following a statement from Brussels that the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) between Serbia and the EU will be initialled tomorrow, that the Serbian government is working successfully on the European integration of the country, while defending Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty through the process of negotiations on Kosovo-Metohija.

In a statement to the news agency Tanjug, Kostunica said that it is important to sign the agreement as soon as possible after it is initialled, since that will be a powerful incentive for influx of new investments, economic development and creation of new jobs, which will lead to a better living standard for the people of Serbia.
He said that the Serbian government has thus shown in the best possible manner that it can at the same time successfully conduct the process of European integration, which is one of government’s top priorities, and defend the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country through negotiations on the future regulation of Kosovo-Metohija.
