Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said today that he will take part in the talks that to be held on November 5 in Vienna and underlined that they will be very important, as Serbia will insist that it be clearly defined that the negotiating process must be conducted within Resolution 1244.

That means that Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity must be respected and that substantial autonomy for the Albanian ethnic minority in the province must be guaranteed, Kostunica said.
If EU representative in the troika Wolfgang Ischinger proposes on November 5 that the future status of Kosovo-Metohija be resolved after the model of former relations between the two German states, it is clear that Serbia will reject that proposal in a most determined way.
Resolution 1244 does not contain a single letter on the province's independence, just as there is no word on the model which existed between the two German states in 1972. Therefore in line with Resolution 1244, that cannot be the subject of the talks by any means, the Serbian Prime Minister concluded.
