President of the National Council for Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) Rasim Ljajic and Tribunal Chief Prosecutor Carla Del Ponte talked today about documents which were submitted to the tribunal since Del Ponte’s previous visit to Belgrade.

During today’s meeting agreement was reached that submission of documents requested by the prosecution will be continued during the upcoming period.
The Chief Prosecutor gave a positive assessment regarding access to the archives of the Serbian Ministry of Defence, which is being conducted according to the agreement on availability of access to the archives of Serbian state organs.
Ljajic and Del Ponte also discussed modalities of access to archives of the Serbian Security and Intelligence Agency which could satisfy both sides.
Del Ponte stressed that she does not want to hinder Serbia’s EU integration process, but expects that remaining Hague indictees be apprehended and handed over to the Hague Tribunal as soon as possible.
