Director of the Directorate for Enforcement of Penalties of the Serbian Ministry of Justice Sasa Vukadinovic handed over diplomas to 23 prison staff members on completed training on how to help inmates prepare for life after they have served their sentences.
He stressed that this project is just one in a series supported by OSCE and noted that the prison staff who underwent the programme included ten women.
Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Hans Ola Urstad said that OSCE cooperation with the Serbian Interior Ministry has been long-lasting and successful and expressed satisfaction with progress achieved in the Directorate for Enforcement of Penalties.
We think that prison staff are very important as re-socialisation in rehabilitation of prison inmates is crucial, Urstad said.
