Prorokovic told RTS that the mediating troika’s mandate will end on December 10, which does not mean the end of negotiations on the future status of Kosovo-Metohija.
There is not a document stating that December 10 is a “red line” and end of the negotiating process. That is only the date when the troika will give an evaluation of the whole process, which will be followed by a certain conclusion, he explained.
According to him, the Albanian side is getting much more nervous as it is obvious that during the past year Serbia has won a great diplomatic and political victory.
He stressed that the issue of Kosovo-Metohija is the Serbian issue and the issue of national identity, but also an Albanian issue as they live in the province too.
Geographically, this is a European issue. Geographically, Russia is part of Europe. Politically, Kosovo is an issue of the UN Security Council which is the only body that can change the existing or pass a new resolution, he stressed.
Speaking on his recent visit to Kosovo, he said that social and economic situation there is not good but noted that in 2008, Serbia plans to solve even more problems in the province.
