Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said today at a meeting with Speaker of Macedonian parliament Ljubisa Georgijevski that in the talks on future status of Kosovo-Metohija, Serbia offered ethnic Albanians the status of the most privileged ethnic minority in the world.
The Serbian Prime Minister said that all arguments are in favour of Serbia, which advocates respect for international law, the UN Charter and the Helsinki Final Act. He warned that violation of international law would represent legal violence and would have serious consequences upon regional stability.
Kostunica said that only a compromise solution for Kosovo can be sustainable and guarantee stability.
The Macedonian parliament Speaker said that Macedonia endorses a solution for Kosovo that will bring peace and stability to the region.
Georgijevski said that Macedonia will respect the Agreement between the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Macedonia concerning the state border.
The two officials agreed that cooperation under the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) will improve economic cooperation between the two countries.
