Dialogue important for finding solutions to fertility challenges

Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, stated today, at the opening of the Fifth WTO Forum “I Choose Fertility”, that discussions dedicated to the fight for procreation contribute to the development of better and more effective treatment on this issue.

At the meeting, which is dedicated to the contemporary challenges of fertility and reproductive health, Macut stated that this forum and discussions dedicated to reproductive health represent the need of the Serbian academic community and all those interested in this issue to make an additional step towards better and more effective treatment, but also to dispel some misconceptions.

The Prime Minister said that this is actually a story that has been going on since the 1990s, when there have been dilemmas about whether someone, entering old age, loses the chance to have their own offspring and what the prospects are.

He also spoke at the forum on the panel “Reality without Filters: Are We Too Late? Fertility after 40”, which is one of four expert panels dedicated to the challenges of fertility after the age of 40, factors that influence the success of in vitro fertilization, ethical and medical aspects of reproductive material donation, as well as a personalized approach to infertility treatment.

At the opening of this gathering, Minister without portfolio in charge of gender equality, prevention of violence against women and economic and political empowerment of women Tatjana Macura also addressed the audience.
