Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica pointed out today in a meeting with OSCE Secretary-General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut that in the negotiations on the future status of Kosovo-Metohija, Serbia suggested to Kosovo Albanians to receive the status of most privileged national minority anywhere in the world.
Kostunica warned of the open threats of Albanian separatists that they will proclaim the province’s independence unilaterally, without a decision of the UN Security Council regardless of the negotiating process and claims from certain countries that they would acknowledge Kosovo independence.
Serbia will reject any unilateral act jeopardising its sovereignty and territorial integrity, he stressed and added that it is impossible to impose a solution upon Serbia violently.
The Prime Minister especially pointed to the difficult position of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija who do not have basic conditions for living, their freedom of movement is limited and they are exposed to Albanian violence every day.
