Serbian Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Slobodan Samardzic said today that the issue of the future status of Kosovo-Metohija is currently the subject of negotiations which are being held strictly under UN auspices and under control of the Security Council, while they are being conducted by the Contact Group and the troika of envoys.
In a statement to the news agency Tanjug, Samardzic reiterated that this process is going on strictly under the authority of the UN and this framework and format will remain valid until the issue of Kosovo-Metohija is resolved.
He added that this is the framework which guarantees that the UN will continuously uphold the solution to this issue and it will be resolved within the framework of the UN SC Resolution 1244.
No type of special international conference could help resolve the issue of Kosovo-Metohija, said Samardzic, adding that recently there was speculation regarding such an option, but anything which is outside the framework of the UN is inadmissible and Serbia rejects it completely.
