Serbian Assistant Minister of Defence Dusan Spasojevic met today with Pentagon and State Department heads in Washington and said how important it is not to prejudge the final outcome of talks on the Kosovo-Metohija future status and give false hope to any side that the resolution has already been determined before the talks even began.
Spasojevic, who is visiting Washington as part of a military delegation from Serbia, said it is essential that Belgrade and Pristina conduct true talks on the province’s future status and called on the authorities in Washington to convince both sides that the talks are undoubtedly being held.
Spasojevic said that the military delegation from Serbia and US officials concluded at a meeting that bilateral military cooperation is the most successful form of cooperation between these two states.
He also said he agreed with his collocutors on the advancement of further cooperation between the Serbian Army and the Ohio National Guard. Spasojevic also recalled that ten Serbian Army officers are currently in US military schools.
