Direct negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina on Kosovo status begin today

The first direct negotiations at the highest political level between representatives of Belgrade and Pristina on the Kosovo status, led by the mediating "troika" of the Contact Group will be held today.

The Serbian state negotiating team will be headed by Serbian President Boris Tadic and Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, while the Pristina delegation will be led by Kosovo president and prime minister Fatmir Sejdiu and Agim Ceku respectively.
The talks will be held at the European Union office of the United Nations, at 3.30 pm CET, and will be guided by representatives of the EU, the US and Russia – Wolfgang Ischinger, Frank Wisner and Alexandar Bocan-Harchenko.
At today's meeting the agenda should be established for negotiations that will be conducted in October and November, until December 10, when the mediating "troika" will submit a report to the UN Secretary-General on the results of the talks.
