Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said that the direct talks which are to be held on September 28 in New York might be crucial for the decision of the international community that future status of Kosovo-Metohija must be resolved in line with international law and only in the UN Security Council.
Kostunica told the Tanjug news agency that in these most important talks, Serbia will be represented at the highest state level. The President of Serbia and himself will advocate a single policy which is based on irrefutable arguments.
Serbia cannot be torn apart violently and the UN Charter must apply to every state, including Serbia, the Prime Minister underlined.
In New York we will do everything to defend Serbia and Kosovo, knowing that every citizen and the entire Serbian nation want to defend its country, Kostunica said.
