Serbian Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic and Greek Minister of Economy and Finance George Alogoskoufis agreed today in Athens that the Greek government as part of the Hellenic Plan donates €100 million for construction of part of Corridor 10.
The protocol on cooperation will be signed during Alogoskufis’s visit to Belgrade.
After meeting with his Greek colleague, Dinkic said that the Serbian government will set aside substantial funds from the 2008 budget so that works could begin already in spring.
The completion of the highway is of great economic and strategic importance for the economies of Serbia and Greece as it will connect the economies of central and western Europe with the Thessalonica port and speed up the transit of people and goods, Dinkic said.
The economic cooperation between Serbia and Greece is very good, the two officials agreed and voiced hope it will develop even more.
They also agreed on the work of line ministries to avoid double taxation, the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development said in a statement.
