Serbian Assistant Minister of International Economic Relations Dusko Lopandic, appointed on July 1 as national coordinator for the Stability Pact for Southeastern Europe, told the Serbian government’s official website today that Serbia-Montenegro’s participation in the Stability Pact is one of the most important activities for the development of regional cooperation.
Lopandic said that the Stability Pact has contributed a lot to the development of regional cooperation and re-integration of Serbia-Montenegro into the region of Southeastern Europe. He added that around 60 Stability Pact’s projects are under way, such as a project to create a free trade zone in the Balkans as well as those related to security, energy and fight against crime, corruption, and social disparities.
Lopandic said that the national coordinator’s task is to direct and promote these activities in cooperation with state institutions, the non-governmental sector, and political organisations.
According to him, the appointment of the assistant minister of international economic relations as the national coordinator for the Stability Pact represents a recognition of the ministry’s work.
