Samardzic informs Ischinger on Serbian view regarding solution to Kosovo status issue

Serbian Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Slobodan Samardzic talked today with EU representative of the international troika of envoys Wolfgang Ischinger in order to prepare for the upcoming meetings in London and New York.

The aim of the meeting was to better acquaint Ischinger regarding the Serbian stand upon the solution to the issue of the future status of Kosovo-Metohija, in keeping with the detailed presentation which the Serbian delegation presented at the consultative talks held on August 30 in Vienna.
It was confirmed on that occasion that the Belgrade delegation will meet with the delegation of Kosovo Albanians in New York, and it was stressed that some questions connected to that should be resolved beforehand, such as the agenda and procedure of the planned meeting.
During that meeting, Samardzic presented in detail the Serbian stand regarding both these questions, and expressed expectation that conditions will be created through direct talks with the Albanian side for finding a compromise solution to this complex issue.
