Bozovic told a press conference that the Inspectorate wants to remain independent, and he added that the objective of reforms is to depoliticise, decriminalise, and demiltarise the Serbian police.
Dutch Ambassador to Belgrade Baren van der Heijden said that the reforms will enable a more efficient law enforcement and more transparent policing in Serbia.
Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia-Montenegro Maurizio Massari said that accountability of police and internal control mechanisms to fight corruption within the very police force are key to creation of a modern and reliable police service.
