Member of the Serbian negotiating team for talks on the Kosovo-Metohija future status and advisor to the Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Simic stated today that any mention of December 10, as a deadline for concluding talks, is only a personal view of one member of the troika of envoys, Wolfgang Ischinger.
In a statement to the Beta news agency, Simic said that at yesterday’s Vienna meeting of delegations from Belgrade and Pristina with the troika there was no mention of any deadlines for the conclusion of the talks.
Simic said he is surprised by Ischinger’s statement that Belgrade did not work out the plan on the province’s substantial autonomy and presented it concretely enough. He added that the meeting took longer than planned because of the questions on this matter which members of the troika asked.
We expect Ischinger to state his position on the warning voiced by ethnic Albanian separatists that they will declare independence after December 10. If he fails to do this, we will take it that he supports that course of action, emphasised Simic.
