During the meeting, attention was drawn to possibilities for promotion of domestic tobacco growing and increase of exports with greater engagement of domestic suppliers in the production process.
The meeting also focused on protection of public health, smoking reduction strategy, especially among youth, and emphasised the necessity of respecting the law and its further harmonisation with EU standards.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Philip Morris, British American Tobacco (BAT), Japan Tobacco International (JTI), Monus and representatives of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management.
