Kostunica sends telegram of condolences to Greek Prime Minister

Belgrade, 27 August 2007

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica sent a telegram to Greek Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis to express condolences for catastrophic fires which struck Greece and took many lives.

“Honourable Prime Minister, Dear Kostas,

Please accept our deepest concern and condolences for the catastrophic fires that have struck your country and the Greek people.

We wish you to know that the Serbian government is ready to help your country in any way and do all it can to prevent further disaster and alleviate the consequences.

I also beseech you to send the Serbian government’s and my own condolences to bereaved families.

I am certain that the tragedy you have experienced is an opportunity for us to show friendship between our two peoples which was confirmed so many times throughout history and in the gravest hardships”, reads the Serbian Prime Minister’s telegram to Greek Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis.
