Serbian Minister for Kosovo-Metohija Slobodan Samardzic warned today in a meeting with Portuguese Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Luís Amado that the Albanian side will not accept constructive proposals should the future status for Kosovo-Metohija be indicated.
Samardzic told Beta news agency that in a working breakfast with Amado, which was also attended by Portuguese Ambassador to Belgrade Paulo Tiago Da Silva, that if the solution for status is predicted, as it is being done in some circles, there will be no negotiations as the Albanian side will not accept constructive dialogue.
According to him, Amado pointed out that the EU will support Belgrade-Pristina negotiations in the best possible manner so that the two sides can reach a joint position.
Samardzic said that in the meeting, which was organised prior to Amado’s visit to the Serbian southern province, it was stressed that a good start should be used,
when the Serbian side conveyed a proposal of negotiations rules to the mediation team on August 10, so that the negotiating process would take route toward a compromise.
He pointed out that he handed over this six-item document along with technical elements and expressed expectation that the mediation team will organise negotiations in Vienna in a serious way.
