Government invites US to be impartial in Kosovo-Metohija status settlement process

Serbian Minister of Education Zoran Loncar stated today that the Serbian government has invited the USA to be fully impartial in the process of Kosovo-Metohija’s status resolution.

In a statement to the Tanjug news agency, Loncar stressed that the US is trying to revive UN Special Envoy Martti Ahtisaari’s plan, which has definitely been rejected, and added that Ahtisaari himself would have remained part of the negotiating process if his plan was still being taken into consideration.
He pointed out that Serbia expects that in the course of the new talks, the US representative should demonstrate impartiality and a constructive approach in the process to find a compromise solution in line with the UN Charter and Serbian Constitution.
