Talks with new mediators open possibilities for compromise solution for Kosovo-Metohija

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica stated today that new talks with new mediators open up the possibility of reaching a compromise solution for Kosovo-Metohija which would satisfy both Serbia’s essential interests and those of the ethnic Albanian minority in the province.

In a statement to the Tanjug news agency, Kostunica said that in the course of the new talks, Serbia and Russia will again advocate the joint principled policy based on the respect of basic principles of international law.
The Prime Minister stressed it is very important that more UN Security Council member states, as well as more European states, support this policy in order to reach a compromise solution on the province’s future status.
