Serbia’s business environment improves considerably

Belgrade, 26 July 2007

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica talked today with World Bank Regional Coordinator for Southeast Europe Orsalia Kalantzopoulos.

Kostunica stressed that the business environment in Serbia has considerably improved, extraordinary increase in foreign investments marked and economic stability achieved.

The Prime Minister also emphasised the importance of projects carried out with the World Bank which concern energy efficiency, irrigation and infrastructure.

Kalantzopoulos said that World Bank has a partner relation with Serbia and stressed that their cooperation is quite satisfactory.

Also present at the meeting was new Director of the World Bank office in Belgrade Neil Simon Gray who voiced belief that the satisfactory cooperation between the World Bank and Serbia will be resumed.
