Samardzic-Markovic opens EYOF

Serbian Minister of Youth and Sports Snezana Markovic-Samardzic last night opened the 9th European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Belgrade, the largest and most important multidisciplinary competition this year in Serbia.

I welcome all guests and congratulate to organisers on the big job they did, whereas to athletes I wish a lot of success. I pronounce the EYOF open, Samardzic-Markovic said.
After the opening ceremony, the Minister hosted a reception in the Palace of Serbia in New Belgrade for Olympic officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps and guests of Belgrade who will spend the next seven days in Serbia’s capital.
EYOF is a big event for Belgrade and whole of Serbia. Filled with Olympic spirit and positive energy, young athletes from 49 countries will promote the spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play, Samardzic-Markovic said.
On behalf of the Serbian government, the Minister thanked all those who helped Belgrade to be the centre of European youth and sports during the next seven days.
Samardzic-Markovic also expressed belief that we will justify the trust we got by good organisation and hospitality.
