The Serbian Ministry of Interior stated that at the request of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, the police took into custody former district prosecutor at the Belgrade District Prosecutor’s Office Rade Terzic on suspicion that he was a member of the Zemun clan.
The statement adds that Terzic’s role was to take advantage of his position and authority and make sure that members of this criminal group were released from custody. He also carried out other activities for which he was authorised by law and thus managed to achieve better positions at court for the clan members.
The ministry adds that Terzic gave consent for releasing from custody and abolishing further criminal procedure against Milorad Ulemek Legija in 2001.
Terzic will be taken before the investigating judge of the Special section of the Belgrade District court, adds the statement.
