Serbian Minister of Diaspora Vojislav Vukcevic presented today a significant state honor, Order of Nemanja, to successful businessmen of Serbian origin, Branko Tupanjac, who lives in Chicago.

Tupanjac was awarded on the basis of an order made by Serbia-Montenegrin President Svetozar Marovic, for "cherishing ties of Serbian emigrants with their motherland and offering unselfish assistance to Serbian people, both in Serbia and Diaspora".
Branko Tupanjac was born in 1938 in Herzegovina. He left for Chicago with his family 36 years ago, where he became a successful businessmen. He is known to wider public for fulfilling the last wish of great Serbian poet Jovan Ducic. He took his remains to his city of birth Trebinje and placed them in a monastery which Tupanjac built there - Herzegovina's replica of Gracanica, the Tanjug news agency reported.
