Serbian Minister of Diaspora Milica Cubrilo said today during a visit to the recently renovated Zociste Monastery that Serbs abroad, particularly those living in the US, are very interested in renovating monasteries and Serbian cultural heritage in Kosovo-Metohija.
Cubrilo,
who is on a two day visit to Kosovo-Metohija, stated for the Beta-RFI Radio that it is being examined how better economic conditions could be created, with the help of the diaspora, to make it possible for Serbs to return to the province.
She expressed expectation that the renovation of the monastery has great symbolic value for Serbs who live in the area, as for those who should return. She pointed to the fact that besides reconstruction of houses it is necessary to secure other conditions for normal life.
